The launch of this campaign in 2022 was initiated by Amref Tanzania in partnership with the Ministry of Health Zanzibar. These joint efforts had set a goal to mobilize various partners, supporters and the public to contribute medical equipment valued at one billion Tanzanian Shillings (TZS 1,000,000,000) over a three-year period from 2022 to 2024. The Uzazi ni Maisha initiative intends to raise awareness on the prominence of having enough medical equipment and supplies for safe delivery, engaging public and other partners to support in purchasing and disseminating these equipment and supplies.
